2425 Community Outreach
Team 2425 is dedicated to spreading Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics to the youth of the community. To do this, we look to numerous sources, targeting children, teenagers, adults, patients, and professionals. With this, we have a large audience. Our numerous outreach projects allows us to repetitively attract these people.
Tampa General Hospital Demonstrations
We currently have a demonstration prepared for October 15 at 6 pm to 7 pm. On this day, we'll bring our robots and Frisbee shooter to display and drive to pediatric patients. In addition to this, we'll let the children drive around our robots. If they're interested, we'll teach them about the design process we underwent when building these robots
We created a youtube channel this year to post footage of our activities and robots. This effectively documents our progress within meetings. Because the youtube channel is open, others can learn from what we do, and people who give us feedback can help us as well.
Florida FTC Teams
To maintain the high level of competition within Florida, we developed a Facebook page where FTC teams can discuss engineering and strategy. We plan on spreading the word during competitions and public events
Relay For Life
Each year, the hydra team participates in relay for life. This is an event where people form teams to raise money to help fight cancer. The basic strategy is to have members walk around the track to raise money, however we also sell buttons as another fundraising method.
Hillsborough High School "Hydra" Robotics (Facebook Page)
In this page, we target the common person. We post pictures and videos of our activities, but we also post humorous photos to catch people's attention. Additionally, we advertise events we have. Since a large audience is from our school, this alerts fellow students at our school about the team
Science Olympiad Assistance
We teamed together with another club at Hillsborough High School, Science Olympiad. This team started last year, so as a fellow STEM related club, we decided to help them out. We let them use our tools and parts to develop contraptions they need for competition
